Rare 1985 1 Ruppee Coin with H Mark
100000.00 ₹
Published date: 2026/10/31
- Location: Ullal, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
The 1985 ₹1 coin with the “H” mint mark was struck at the Heaton Mint in Birmingham, UK, as part of the copper‑nickel 1982–1991 series of Indian one‑rupee coins
Most 1985 “H” mint mark coins were normal copper‑nickel strike issues circulated in India.
Rare trial strike: One exceptional 1985 “H” coin was a trial “OMS” (Off Metal Strike) — struck in solid copper instead of copper‑nickel. This was not released into circulation and is extremely rare
Such a coin was auctioned for ₹2,50,000 due to its unique metal composition, experimental nature, and scarcity
